James Morris is Practice Lead at Zaleo Consulting, where he leads client facing architecture and delivery services, with a strong focus on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). In this role, James works closely with organisations to design, implement, and optimise modern private cloud platforms, helping customers align technology investments with long term business objectives while ensuring operational excellence across complex infrastructure environments.

As a Broadcom Knight, James holds one of the industry’s most respected credentials for VMware expertise, recognising a high level of technical knowledge, practical experience, and commitment to the VMware ecosystem. With more than a decade of hands-on experience working across VMware technologies, he has developed deep expertise in cloud architecture, platform engineering, automation, and infrastructure modernisation. His recent work has centred on VCF architecture and strategy, and he is currently pursuing the prestigious VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification.

James began his career in networking as a Network Consultant Engineer at Cisco Systems, where he built a strong foundation in enterprise networking and infrastructure design. He later joined Over the Wire, spending more than seven years progressing through a number of technical roles, from Network Operations Centre Analyst to Senior Infrastructure Engineer. During this time, he gained extensive experience across operations, infrastructure management, and service delivery in large scale production environments.

Following Over the Wire’s acquisition by Aussie Broadband, James transitioned into specialist VMware focused positions. He worked as a VMware Automation Engineer at Datacom before taking on the role of Cloud Solution Architect at Aussie Broadband. These positions strengthened his expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and solution design. He then moved into senior consulting roles with VMware and iSeek, further refining his capabilities in VCF implementation, architecture, and advisory services. In 2025, James joined Zaleo Consulting as a Senior Consultant before progressing to his current role as Practice Lead for Architecture.

Today, James continues to play a key role in developing Zaleo’s internal capability, mentoring consultants, creating enablement content around Broadcom Certified Expert pathways, and helping clients successfully navigate the evolving landscape of modern private cloud architecture.
